Ignatius Valentine Aloysius is a naturalized U.S. citizen from India. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing from Northwestern University where he teaches. He is the author of the literary novel Fishhead. Republic of Want (Tortoise Books) and the collaborative poetry collection, Salt Pruning (Hummingbird Poetry Press), co-written with David Allen Sullivan. His second collaboration with David, Everything I Touch Is—& Isn’t—You is due from Roadside Press in May 2026, and a third poetry collection Bone Dust Mother is forthcoming on Glass Lyre Press in Summer 2026. Ignatius is the current host and curator of the reading series Sunday Salon Chicago and curator/director of Chicago’s first South Asian American Literary Festival, 2026 (SAALF). He is the creator of Hapticwound, a one-person indie rock songwriting project (hapticwound.bandcamp.com), and Fab Hippo Records LLC. Ignatius is Co-Editor of The Overturning Anthology (Erratics Press) and serves as Co-Chair of the Curatorial Council at Ragdale Foundation, where he is also a Board of Trustees member. He lives in Evanston, Illinois.
